As a former first-generation immigrant student, Andrea Lewis believes a good education should be accessible to everyone regardless of socioeconomic status. She has focused her career on helping students achieve their educational goals by helping remove financial barriers.

Andrea’s financial aid career started in 2007 as a Financial Aid Advisor at the University of Phoenix. She later became a Financial Aid Administrator and Work-study Coordinator at Baltimore City Community College, where she saw firsthand the positive impact of work-study on her student’s career development and ability to care for themselves financially. Venturing from higher education, Andrea led a financial aid department as Assistant Director at Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Providing brilliant young scholars access to unique educational experiences without financial hindrance.

Currently, as an Assistant Director of Financial Aid Outreach, Andrea hopes to continue to provide educational access to the best and brightest students who earn their way into Hopkins but need additional financial support so they can focus on learning and impacting the world around them.
