New for 24-25: FAFSA application changes

The FAFSA Simplification Act brought changes to the FAFSA application. Learn more about what that means for your application.

Due to technical difficulties with families accessing the FAFSA, we are extending the FAFSA application deadline to February 15th. There will be a delay between the date you submit the FAFSA and when we receive it. Hopkins will not be able to confirm receipt until mid-April. If you have submitted the FAFSA, please check the To-Do List on the Financial Aid tab in SIS in April for confirmation of receipt. Your aid will not be jeopardized if the receipt is not confirmed until after February 15.

Estimating Your College Costs

You can expect your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) to be roughly the same from year to year if:

  • Your family’s financial circumstances stay the same
  • The number of siblings in undergraduate programs stays the same

Whether you’re applying for the first time or renewing your current aid offer, you must apply each year.

International students offered aid at admission do not need to reapply.
