Jennifer is a native of Virginia, where she received her bachelor’s at Virginia Commonwealth University and her Master’s in Counseling. Jennifer joined Student Financial Services at Hopkins in 2018 and enjoys educating students on various financial aid topics. Her experience as a first-generation college student helps her understand some of the challenges and obstacles experienced in college. In her experience financial concerns can be a topic of discussion that some avoid. In her role, her goal is to normalize discussions of college expenses and finances with students.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with family and friends and making unforgettable memories. She enjoys cozying up with a good book and learning new hobbies. Some of Jennifer’s interests also include mental health, health and nutrition, and community service.

My Advice to Students: Being a first-generation college student, I learned that college is full of unlimited resources. Therefore, I encourage students to take advantage of all the resources that Johns Hopkins offers, as there are resources you can use even after graduation. Remember, we are here to assist in any way to make your college experience a successful one!
